Hello everyone, my name is Dewni Wijesinghe, and I would like to introduce myself as Totally Lit Festival’s newest member/intern!
As a Sri Lankan Australian, I grew up in the northwestern reaches of Western Australia, surrounded by the ironstone hills and spinifex-speckled earth of the Pilbara. Growing up in such a vast space as an immigrant inspired in me a love for the liminal, where reading and writing wasn’t an escape but rather an opening to all corners of the world. For that once-small community, books were and still are a valuable point of connection to culture, place, and time.
With work published in Pulch Mag & Sprig Mag, I hope to continue experimenting with form and writing a variety of work. I thank the passionate team at Totally Lit for welcoming me. I’m looking forward to an unforgettable experience exploring the literary scene throughout Fremantle/Walyalup in innovative ways.
